CDP Recreational Competitive Companies:
At Cary Dance Productions, we offer a unique opportunity for dancers who have a strong work ethic, a commitment to classroom attendance, and love to perform.
Our Recreational Competitive Company strikes a balance between weekly recreational classes and our competitive level teams — a smaller time and financial commitment with the same amount of heart.
In addition to class attendance requirements, RCC dancers occasionally have rehearsals on the weekend, and are required to participate in several additional performances. These performances include the Cary and Apex Christmas Parades, our winter benefit show CREATE, up to two local dance competition and our end of year Spring Recital.
This year, we will be hosting auditions for 5 different RCC Teams:
* NEW * PetiteRCC Company – K-2nd grade (May 2nd)
MiniRCC Company – 3rd-4th grade (May 3rd)
JuniorRCC Company – 6th-9th grade (May 3rd)
Teen RCC Company – 9th-10th (May 3rd)
SeniorRCC Company – 11th-12th grade (May 3rd)
*We take age and ability into consideration each year, age assignment above will fluctuate from year to year depending on dancers auditioning*
NEW THIS YEAR: RCC dancers are required to audition in Ballet/Jazz. All other dance forms are optional, and dancers MUST ATTEND the audition for each additional dance form, if interested. In your parent portal, you’ll see the REQUIRED audition listed for your group along with all OPTIONAL add on styles. Please register for all dance styles you would like to join next season.
ALL DANCERS MUST COMPLETE THE 2025-2026 RCC AUDITION FORM.
The first part of the required portion of the audition will be structured as a Ballet class, focusing on barre exercises and center combinations demonstrating the dancers’ technique.
During the ballet portion, dancers will be taking a class while being observed by a panel of judges. In addition to technical ability, judges will be watching for focus, work ethic, attitude, ability to make corrections, performance quality, appearance, and showmanship. While we do not expect perfection, we are looking for dancers with determination and potential!
The next part of the required portion of the audition will be focused on Jazz. During this time, dancers will learn a Jazz combination incorporating more advanced elements and style. There will be one judge present for this portion of the audition.
Add on dance forms will be structured similar to the jazz portion listed above.
