RCC Auditions
AUDITION FOR 2024-2025 CDP RCC TEAMS
We are hosting a Competitive Company + RCC interest meeting at CDP
Wednesday May 15th 6:30-7:30pm
CDP Recreational Competitive Companies:
At Cary Dance Productions, we offer a unique opportunity for dancers who have a strong work ethic, a commitment to classroom attendance, and love to perform.
Our Recreational Competitive Company strikes a balance between weekly recreational classes and our competitive level teams — a smaller time and financial commitment with the same amount of heart.
In addition to class attendance requirements, RCC dancers occasionally have rehearsals on the weekend, and are required to participate in several additional performances. These performances include the Cary and Apex Christmas Parades, our winter benefit show CREATE, up to two local dance competition and our end of year Spring Recital.
This year, we will be hosting auditions for 5 different RCC Teams:
* NEW * PetiteRCC Company – K-2nd grade (May 30th 5:00-6:00pm)
MiniRCC Company – 3rd-4th grade (May 31st 4:30-5:30pm)
TweenRCC Company – 4th-6th grade (May 31st 5:30-6:30pm)
JuniorRCC Company – 6th-9th grade (May 31st 6:30-7:30pm)
Teen/SeniorRCC Company – 9th-12th grade (May 31st 7:45-8:45pm)
We take age and ability into consideration each year, age assignment above will fluctuate from year to year depending on dancers auditioning
ALL RCC COMPANY DANCERS ARE REQUIRED TO AUDITION IN BALLET AND JAZZ.
Ballet and Jazz auditions will determine placement and consideration for additional dance forms including Musical Theater, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap, and Acrobatics (if applicable).
ALL DANCERS MUST COMPLETE THE 2024-2025 RCC AUDITION FORM.
The first portion of the audition will be structured as a Ballet class, focusing on barre exercises and center combinations demonstrating the dancers’ technique.
During the ballet portion, dancers will be taking a class while being observed by a panel of judges. While we do not expect perfection, we are looking for dancers with determination and potential!
The next portion of the audition will be focused on Jazz. During this time, dancers will learn a Jazz combination incorporating more advanced elements and style. There will be one judge present for this portion of the audition.
